Free Wheelin' is a Game Mode introduced in Vigilante 8: Arcade where the player can wander a stage with no opponents and can get a handle on the controls of the game. In previous games, this mode was only acquired through Cheat Codes, in which the player could wander aimlessly through a stage without choosing any vehicles to face in battle. Free Wheelin' is also the most useful way the player can find the twenty Alien Artifacts in each stage needed to unlock Y the Alien and earn an Achievement. Free Wheelin' can only be played in single player mode.
